Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has always been a staunch supporter and believer of Indian secularism.

The actor was the main guest at Davat-e-Sehri, a function organised by Mumbai Congress President Kripashankar Singh in the early hours of Sunday, prior to the fast observed during Ramzan.

Speaking at the event, SRK appealed to the Indian youth to shun terrorism and violence. He also called for communal harmony in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in the country. He insisted that the major religions of India preach brotherhood.

"The fact that Singh has been organising a Davat-e-Sehri proves that Islam and Hinduism preach brotherhood and peace," he said.

"Ramzan is a holy month and God answers our special prayers during this period. The 27th day of Roza is a day of piety," Shah Rukh said.

The actor said he was not able to observe Roza for the entire month of Ramzan.

"I could manage only seven days. It was not possible due to my erratic work schedule," Shah Rukh said.

The actor has been busy shooting Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and his home production Billoo Barber .

Mumbai, Sept. 29: The man who weaves many dreams is now building castles in the air. Literally.

Superstar, entertainment mogul and sports magnate, the business-savvy Shah Rukh Khan has now decided to turn realty developer with a beachfront property on a prime plot at Al Dana, an island created on reclaimed land at Ras Al Khaimah — one of the seven emirates — on the Oman border.

The actor, who owns Red Chillies Entertainment and Kolkata Knight Riders — the Calcutta cricket team in the Indian Premier League — has joined hands with the United Arab Emirates-based TSA International Investments, which has built many plush properties in and around Dubai. SRK is an investor in the project, but no one was willing to let out the numbers.

Neither Shah Rukh nor anyone from his office was available for comment.

The project, christened Shahrukh Khan Boulevard, has been totally conceived by the star and designed by Los Angeles architect Toni Ashai. The formal announcement is expected to be made at Cityscape, Dubai's real estate expo, early next month.

The actor, who is not known to shun challenges, has his job cut out. The 1,700sqm Al Dana island is to be Ras Al Khaimah's answer to Dubai's artificially built super-posh Palm Islands where SRK already owns a palatial villa.

Bollywood watchers see in this a parallel: the reigning badshah had taken on supreme deity Amitabh Bachchan by doing the Big B's Kaun Banega Crorepati and Don.

"It is a new beachfront lifestyle destination in the UAE. TSA is developing the Phase I area of Al Dana. Shahrukh Khan Boulevard is situated on a prime plot there. It will be a gated area comprising beachfront high-rises and villas. To begin with, we will launch a G+10 apartment block consisting of studios and two-bedroom apartments," said Ali Abdur Rehman, in charge of project sales for TSA.

TSA itself is going through a phase of re-branding and hopes to advertise widely in west and south Asia, Europe and the US once the exercise is over.

"We have not yet launched the project formally. It will be showcased at Cityscape between October 6-9. On October 20, there will be a formal launch for which Shah Rukh Khan will be present," said Rehman.

Shah Rukh will later go to Dubai for his stage show Temptation Reloaded.

Those who wish to know more about the project have been invited to send "expressions of interest" accompanied by a refundable amount payable by cheque, though sales will begin only after the official launch on October 20.

Bollywood sources said with competition from "Kinng" Akshay Kumar as the country's biggest box-office star, it is time for the badshah to reinvent himself in a new role.

He currently endorses 34 brands, among the highest for any actor anywhere in the world.

Red Chillies, which is a production house, has a VFX studio and also makes animation films, paid Rs 700 million in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and made a profit of Rs 170 million. His last film, Om Shanti Om, also produced by him, has already collected over Rs 1.6 billion.

SRK also owns a 10 per cent stake in the E 24 channel promoted by Bag Films owing to his proximity to the owners, Rajeev Shukla and Anurradha Prasad.

The actor was always keen on entering real estate. Apart from the Al Dana project, he has also shown interest in being a part of the Delhi municipal corporation's Rs 500-crore project Advertisement Oasis. Dreamz Unlimited, another venture owned by SRK which he had started with friends Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza, had sent a proposal to the civic body earlier this year for building studios to set up an advertisement hub.

Shah Rukh Khan recently shot for Jackie Bhagnani's debut film titled Kal Kisne Dekha. The actor makes a special appearance in the film, his latest among several others.

Directed by Vivek Sharma (Bhootnath director), the film is a romantic drama and is tentatively scheduled for a Valentine Day release next year. Sources reveal that Shah Rukh agreed to do the cameo because of his close friendship with Sharma.

Confirming this Sharma says, "Yes we shot with Shah Rukh recently. Actually, I hold both Shah Rukh and Amit ji (Bachchan) very close to my heart. I told both of them that I won't do any project without them doing a scene for me. I have managed to get Shah Rukh and will also try to rope in Amit ji."

Talking about the film he adds, "It will have six songs by Sajid Wajid. I can promise you that the music of the film will be a major highlight." Jackie who is the son of producer Vashu Bhagnani has impressed Sharma with his acting. "He's a newcomer but is very confident and dedicated. One of his biggest strengths is his dialogue delivery. He stars opposite Vaishali Desai who is related to Manmohan Desai. Both of them are looking good in the film."

After intense speculation over Shah Rukh Khan's role in the UAE property market, the Bollywood superstar has finally broken his silence – but only just.

The actor confirmed to Emirates Business his involvement by replying 'yes' when questioned about the rumours he is teaming up with UAE-based construction firm TSA international investments to build the Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard project in Ras Al Khaimah.

Shah Rukh Khan's property handywork will be showcased on the exclusive Al Dana Island – Ras Al Khaimah's answer to Dubai's Palm projects, where he already owns a bungalow.

The full extent of the partnership will be unveiled tomorrow at a press conference in Festival City, attended by Khan himself. This is intended as the prelude to Dubai's real estate expo Cityscape Dubai, to be held from October 6 to 9.

Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard has so far been described as a "new beachfront lifestyle destination in the UAE", but sources have added that it has also been conceptualised by famed architect Toni Ashai.

Khan, dubbed King Khan by Bollywood pundits, joins a growing list of A-listers looking to get behind property developments in the UAE.

In June this year, Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt put his name to a landmark environmentally friendly hotel and leisure project in conjunction with developer Zabeel Properties.

Along with LA-based architecture firm Graft, Pitt will design a luxury project that will include an 800-room five-star hotel.

Sporting legends Boris Becker and Michael Schumacher have also been highly visible in Dubai in recent months for their work with German developer ACI.

Khan's Ras Al Khaimah enterprise assumes a new business avenue for the star altogether. At this juncture the Bollywood star is endorsing 34 brands, which is the highest for any movie actor across the world. He has around 15 brands in hand which he is actively endorsing, namely Pepsi, Airtel, Tag Heur, Compaq, ICICI, Hyundai Santro, HDIL, Reebok, Nokia, Dish TV, Himani, ITC, HP, DLF and Belmonte. His company paid up Rs700 million (Dh56m) in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and made a profit of Rs170m.

His last film, Om Shanti Om, has collected over Rs1.6 billion already. SRK also owns a 10 per cent stake in a channel called E 24 promoted by Bag Films due to his proximity with the owners Rajeev Shukla and Anurradha Prasad.

Not many are aware that Khan, 42, has also applied to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to develop a Rs5bn dream project called Advertisement Oasis, for which he has been asked to fill in a tender.

The actor has also bought a house in Delhi's Panchsheel Park, close to his parents' house in the Indian capital. He has also bought a 4000 sq ft plot of land for Rs560m near Ravi Chopra's Mumbai office to build his Red Chillies Office there.

However, he denied having bought a house in the Primrose Hill suburb in London but said he may set up an office close by.

For the Ras Al Khaimah project, buyers have been invited to offer refundable "expression of interest" cheques for the proposed studio, one-and two-bedroom apartments, but sales will begin only after the official launch by Khan on October 20.

MUMBAI: Actor Shah Rukh Khan has voiced his concerns about the recent blasts that struck Delhi.

The actor seemed visibly upset when asked to react to the issue at MRCC chief Kripashankar Singh's Dawat-E-Sehari in the wee hours of Sunday. He has appealed to the youth not to take the route of terror.

The actor said, "I am not only hurt but ashamed of what has happened and hope this stops." He also appealed to people to keep communal harmony.

Khan has always maintained that his duty as an Indian Muslim has been to spread the message of peace as Islam is not a religion that preaches violence.

Khan has also reportedly said that the terrorists may be Muslims but all Muslims are not terrorists.Khan will act in a film that deals with terrorism and the problems across the world face post-9/11. He plays a peace activist, who is kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and has to negotiate his way out.

Shahrukh Khan
27th Sept 2008  21.00 IST
By ApunKaChoice

Shahrukh Khan seems to be pulling out all the stops to make his upcoming world tour as loaded as possible.

The superstar is making sure there's enough glitz, gloss and glamour in the musical concerts of the 'Temptation Reloaded' tour, to be held in Germany, Spain and Dubai in October.

Even as the preparation for the shows is underway, SRK has roped in the Bollywood bombshells Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone for the German leg of the tour. The two ladies bonded well during the promotion of their film Bachna Ae Haseeno and are also likely to share the stage during the concerts.

Katrina Kaif will also be a big attraction of the tour, in spite of the rumours alleging her departure from 'Temptation' after SRK's spat with Salman Khan .

This bandwagon of Bollywood beauties might get further crowded with the possible inclusion of Kareena Kapoor . Talks are presently on with Kareena and her dates are being looked into to figure out if she can spare time for the concerts. She is presently shooting Raju Hirani's movie 3 Idiots in Shimla.

'Temptation Reloaded' will also feature SRK's good friend Arjun Rampal who is likely to play the guitar onstage, like his character in Rock On .

The concerts are scheduled thus: Show in Berlin on October 17; in Munich on October 18; in Frankfurt on October 19; in Barcelona (Spain) on October 20. There will be a four day break before the final concert in Dubai on October 25.

SRK interview: I do a silly job, but I love doing it

I do a silly job, but I love doing it
Catching up with Shah Rukh Khan as he nurses a back injury

Shah Rukh Khan's hurt his back again and as he sat at home, he spoke at length about his health problem, and his life and times in general.
You have hurt your back again?

Yes, I am not doing too well. I am currently bed ridden as you can see. I forget I am 43 and I tried to do a fight scene and got hurt very badly. I hurt my back and my neck. The doctor is coming every two hours to check my state and monitor me closely.

You are still going on and on… aren't you scared of a burnout?

I truly believe that even after so many years I feel like every film is my first and last film. I feel that if this doesn't work out then I won't get another film to work on. So I do it with that desperation, that intensity and that passion. I want to die doing a film.

I think I should not be working so hard. But then I have been made to do something which has been written in my destiny and hence I continue working.

A lot of my friends tell me, 'We've been telling you for the past 15 years that you'll burn out.' But I feel I will not burn out because I am still very excited to wear make-up. In my life I feel that picture abhi baki hai mere dost. I have not completed the most beautiful film of my life yet and I hope the last shot I give is the best.

You try and give a message through your films… like picture abhi baki hai mere dost…

Whenever I produce movies, I always try to give a message.

When I was in college I used to play cricket and football and wanted to represent India in the national team. When I injured my back it seemed like the end of my career. For two years I was depressed but that was the reason why I joined the film industry.

Once I joined the film industry my life changed for the better. Whatever I am today is only because of what happened then.

Like a few years ago both of us - you and me, were young. You wrote something negative about me and I got very angry with you. We fought as you printed something about me because maybe you didn't like me and after which I didn't like you. But now you're making a documentary on me and I feel you must have seen something good in me. In the end we're sitting together after 10 years since that happened. Hence "picture abhi baki hai mere dost".

You haven't been giving time to a lot of your friends who are now angry with you?

There are those who think that I only work and there are some friends who feel that I don't get the time to meet them.

I do 2-3 films and it takes 200 days. I also do around 15 endorsements with an average of 3 days per endorsement, which takes up 50 days.

I also manage to do some 20-25 live shows - whether it's the Filmfare awards or the rehearsals, which take about 40 days.

I also spend two months on my television shows and their promotions. I take about 1 and ½ months break from work to spend with my kids.

So I run short of 70 days in a year and hence I have to work a lot more. In the end, I don't get to meet a lot of people. There are a lot of friends, a lot of people whom I can't give time.

How has your journey been from Deewana to Dard-e-Disco?

Actually to tell you the truth, when I think about my journey from theatre to television to where I am today it doesn't seem so long.

I was watching 'Chak De' right now and it just doesn't feel like it's been two years since we shot the film in Australia. Sometimes the children also pull out old DVDs and tell me 'look at how you used to look before'!

Recently I was watching 'Yes Boss' because my son felt that I can't do somersaults in the air. So I showed the film to him to because I had done a somersault in it. In the film I had somersaulted into the car like Jackie Chan does in his films. So I showed him that I could do it when I was young. But when I was watching the film it didn't feel like it was a long time ago, it felt like it happened just yesterday or the day before.

A few days ago when Juhi (Chawla) had come over with her kids I was just telling her that it doesn't feel like it's been such a long time since we did this film together. I wanted to ask her also if she feels like that.

What is the feeling after so many years of work?

I'll be a 43-year-old man in few months and I still wear make-up in the morning, so how silly is that? I do a silly job, but well, that's the job I love doing. I adore it.

Do your children like your films?

My son's favourite film is 'Baadshah'. When he watches it he tells me that 'the special effects are really bad, Papa'. So now I have to make a Baadshah that my son will like.

You have also acted in remakes of films like Devdas and Don… Trying to prove a point?

When I did 'Devdas', I wanted to say something to the people but everyone had a different take on it. Some said it was ostentatious while some said I was copying Dilip Kumar, etc. The film belonged to another generation but as an actor it's my duty to bring it to the notice of the people of today. They must know that 'Devdas' was a great film.

See my 'Don' and know what a great actor Amitabh Bachchan was.

A writer has alleged that you lifted his story idea to make Om Shanti Om. Comment.

Farah Khan narrated the script of 'Om Shanti Om' many years ago when I was shooting for Mani Rathnam's 'Dil Se'. I did not do the film then. Farah and I then worked on the script of 'Happy New Year' with Amitabh Bachchan. But Amitji fell ill and was hospitalised and we knew that film could not be made because Amitji had a lot of scenes in the film.

I told Farah to bring over the script of 'Om Shanti Om' that she had narrated to me earlier and said that we can make it. So there was no way how we could have taken the script from anyone else as the said person has claimed.

Even the Manoj Kumar issue became big and you had to erase a few scenes.

Manojji is a veteran film person and we respect everyone from the industry. We will do what he wants as long as it makes him happy. There was no intention to hurt him in the first place.

Shooting for Billo Barber was an extremely unique experience for Lara Dutta. The movie has been shot in Pollachi, a small town in Tamil Nadu where stars did not get good accommodation and had to stay in a typical South Indian house. And amidst all this, Lara enjoyed the privilege of being taken special care of by King Khan himself.

She says, "The only accommodation we could get was a highway lodge. After spending three nights without sleep, Shah Rukh and his production personally went and found someone's house to stay."

Though she is not paired opposite SRK, she bonded well with him on the set of Billo Barber. "This is the 1st time Shah Rukh and I have worked together. He is fantastic as a producer and as an actor. I was thoroughly pampered and entertained and the team spent time playing dumb charades."

Apparently Pollachi is a small town and due to lack of transport facilities Lara traveled by tractors. Speaking about her experience she said, "I have walked barefoot for 15 days to get into my character. I have drawn water from a well and for the first time cooked on a choolah. I have also fed goats and cows. This is the 1st time I have done these sorts of things and the experience was thrilling and fun."

Lara last played a gaon ki chori in Apurva Lakhia's Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film was a disaster at the box office, but with Billo Barber and SRK at the helm of affairs, we are sure that this film's publicity will be in good hands.

SRK has always seen experimenting a different look everytime he works with Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films.

After playing double roles in 'Duplicate', 'Don', 'Om Shanti Om' Shahrukh will be seen playing double role in Aditya Chopra's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.
SRK has always seen experimenting a different look everytime he works with Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films. He looked like a cool dud in 'Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayenge' with a cool hairdo and trendy jackets and shirts. In 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' we saw him sporting outfits from Calvin Klein T's to elegant designer suits. Later, in 'Mohabbatein' he went for a classy look with those of cool pullovers complemented with geeky glasses that he wore. And the shoes he wore are still popular. For 'Veer-Zaara' he experimented  his look as a young army officer and an old prisoner. Shahrukh shed his ultra-glamorous look in 'Chak De India' for playing the role of coach for Indian hockey team. Now for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' he goes spiky.

King Khan will be seen in a fresh new look in this movie. To create more excitement among all his fans, he will be sporting more than one look. His new look will sport complete spiky hair and some sporty Ray Bans. One of the looks of Shah Rukh includes a Charlie Chaplin kinda moustache. The other look is that of an NRI wearing some ultra high fashionable and flashy clothes.

Well, this seems to be a special treat for all his fans who are eagerly looking forward for this movie which is expected to release in December 2008.

The Kajol-Shah Rukh jodi hasn't been seen together since Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). The industry's fav jodi are committed to Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan due 2009. However, the two will be seen together before that in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

However, Kajol is not paired with SRK in RNBDJ, she's only doing a song. It was director Aditya Chopra's idea to rope in Kajol.

The song will be shot in Mumbai. And Kajol will appear in one of the verses of a song filmed on Shah Rukh and newcomer Anushka Sharma. The setting of the song will be a Punjabi folk event, and Kajol appears seconds before the song ends. A source says, "It will be very similar to her appearance in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. All it took was a phone call from Adi for her to say yes."

Chopra's directorial debut Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge starred SRK and Kajol in lead roles, and he was looking forward to having them together in the same frame.

SRK and Kajol have a blazing chemistry on-screen, and it is exciting for the audiences to see them together even for a few seconds. Which explains her presence in SRK starrers Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Om Shanti Om. An insider reveals, "Kajol is sentimental about working with Adi and Shah Rukh in a project after DDLJ."

Recently, Rani was shooting in Amritsar when Shah Rukh was shooting for RNBDJ, giving rise to speculation that Adi would rope in his favourite actress too for his film. However, now it's confirmed that it's Kajol and not Rani who is making a brief appearance in the film.

Mumbai, Sept 22: With his six-pack abs and raunchy masculine sex appeal, Shah Rukh Khan gave the actors half his age a run for their money. But now the King Khan has decided to bid adieu to his much raved about abs and just entertain us all with his raw sex appeal as he goes back to basics sporting that guy next look with his lean body frame.

Yes, the actor who once donned a pumped up look and a sweaty appeal for getting that Greek God like build is now just avoiding the gym in his attempt to loose that macho look.

Care to guess what's making King Khan gym aversive?

Well, the actor is following strict instructions given by good friend and directors Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar. Shah Rukh who is all set to play a leading role in Aditya's 'Rab Ne Bana De Jodi' and Karan's 'My Name Is Khan' has been asked to do away with his sexy looks as both the flicks require him to look lean.

Sticking onto the directions, the actor is now chilling out and working on to put on some flab.

Sadly for the ladies who just could not get enough of King Khan's alluring abs for now they will have to be content with his lean mean look.

TOP 5: The stars who bounced back

Meet the big five who simply refused to quit and are now on top

Everyone goes through a rough patch. And the biggest stars in Bollywood are no exceptions.Shah Rukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, everyone has faced such tough times, it's surprising how they've bounced back. Here's a lowdown:

Shah Rukh Khan

With dreams in his eyes, Shah Rukh came to Mumbai 'to own this city'. Today he confesses that it's the city that owns him. But he seems to have no regrets. With over 50 movies to his credits
Shah Rukh Khan may well be the most envied star today. But like many actors, he too started small. Shah Rukh's first film was Hema Malini's Dil Aashna Hai but it was Raj Kunwar's Deewana that released first. Incidentally, both the films had the late Divya Bharati opposite him.

Divya was then a very big star. But
Deewana turned the tables and made Shah Rukh a star overnight. It also fetched him the Filmfare Award for best debut. However after this hit, Shah Rukh took some bad career decisions that resulted in a string of flops.

With
Baazigar and Darr, he was back in the running. The two films also started the trend of a hero doing negative roles. Then a lean period followed after which came the two big hits – Karan Arjun and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

The fluctuating career graph headed northwards after
Koyla. Indeed there have been those drawbacks in his career even after Koyla, like AsokaOne 2 Ka 4Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, etc. But he almost always managed to give one huge hit every year and maintain his standing.

/photo.cms?msid=3512608 King Khan created excitement among his contemporaries with his six pack abs body at the age 42. He worked very hard to get it for the look of his character in Om Shanti Om. And just when his fans thought that he will flaunt his six pack abs in some more films, Shah Rukh is going for a lean look.

Apparently Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming films Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and My Name Is Khan do not require a macho man look. It is learnt that SRK has stopped his workout since the last few months.

In Yash Raj's forthcoming film RNBDJ he plays a young college going boy while in Karan Johar's MNIK he will be seen as a NRI Muslim. And since he is required to look lean to suit his characters, King Khan will not flaunt his abs anymore.

The coronation of Bhutan's new King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk next month will feature a surprisingly varied cast from India.

Led by chief guest President Pratibha Patil, a power-packed delegation comprising not merely top political honchos but also Shah Rukh Khan will travel to Thimpu. The Indian delegation will manage a double act of cementing ties with Bhutan and entertaining the new king.

The crowning of Wangchuk, 29, who is world's youngest king, will be a special affair with lots of colour and fanfare. While UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi is a special invitee, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is also expected to be there along with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Despite the pageantry and the presence of political heavyweights, the show stealer may well turn out to be a performance by Khan and Bollywood's newest heart-throb Katrina Kaif at Thimpu's new soccer stadium. The king is an avid movie watcher and the performance has been planned at his royal request.

Bhutan is the only country in the world that measures its prosperity by what is known as the gross national happiness. In March, the tiny country of 7,00,000, which acts as a strategic buffer for India, took a giant leap to voluntary democracy, a rare feat for a country ruled by a monarch. The present king's father Jigme Singye Wangchuck spearheaded the change.

The Bhutan Peace and Prosperity Party led by Jigme Y. Thinley swept the polls by a landslide margin. While the king is the head of state, the Parliament holds the right to remove him by a two-thirds majority. Also, a retirement age of 60 has been fixed for the monarch, something a not-so-young prince in London has been waiting for long.

The Red Chilies Production Film Billo Barber which is the remake of Rajnikanth starrer ShahRukh Disappoints Fans 'Kuselan' will not be released this Diwali. The release has been postponed to early next year. According to sources, two songs of the movie are yet to be shot and with a large scale marketing plan in the pipe line; it will be very difficult to release the film in month from now.

However the flop of the original film seems to be the most probable cause. Even the die hard fans of Rajnikanth were not able to give any credit to the movie. Having learnt their lesson, the director Priyadarshan and producer SRK have decided to re-shoot a few scenes and also shorten the duration of the film to 150 minutes as compared to 180 min in the original.

The film could have had an early or mid November release but then that would disturb Karan Johar's plan of releasing 'Dostana,' and for Shah Rukh friends are important. As for King Khan this is not a setback because his Yash Raj banner film with Aditya Chopra as the Director is all set to release on 12 December. This has also been seen as one of the reasons for the delay of Billo Barber as SRK does not want to give an over dose of himself to the audience

Monday, September 22, 2008: (Mumbai):

After Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra has been chosen as the third heroine to make a special appearance in Priyadarshan's Billoo Barber and shake a leg with Shah Rukh Khan.

And Priyadarshan says it was a cakewalk for the superstar to get the leading ladies to do a cameo in his comedy.

"Since Shah Rukh plays a filmstar in the movie, I needed him to do some big glamorous song and dance numbers with some top heroines. I left the choice to Shah Rukh. I knew all he had to do was to pick up the phone and ask any of his leading ladies," Priyadarshan said.

According to sources, it was a tie between Rani Mukerji and Priyanka for the third item song with Shah Rukh Khan in Billoo Barber.

"But after Rani appeared on Salman Khan's game show Dus Ka Dum and knowing there's no love lost between Salman and Priyanka, the scales tilted automatically towards Priyanka," an industry source said.

Though King Khan has done item numbers earlier in Shakti, Kaal and Krazzy 4, this would be Priyanka's first item number.

The song with Kareena was shot at the very start of the shooting.

"At this very moment, I'm shooting a second item song with Deepika and Shah Rukh. That's again a very catchy number and Shah Rukh is having a ball shooting with Deepika," Priyadarshan said.

Interestingly, the director was supposed to launch Deepika two years ago in a film called Pirate.

"But that didn't work out. She made her debut with Shah Rukh (in Om Shanti Om). Now she's working with him again. And I also got a chance to work with her. Don't ask who's the lucky one," he quipped.

Inspired by the story of Lord Krishna and his childhood friend Sudama, a poor Brahmin, Billoo Barber tells the tale of a superstar and his pal Billoo (Irrfan Khan), who is a barber by profession.

But according to Shah Rukh it is this type of guy who is the most romantic. In an interview given to a website, the actor exclaimed "The most boring, normal guys are the best lovers."

The King Khan said this while elaborating more on the character he is portraying in Aditya Chopra's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'. According to SRK "I play this normal, regular guy. He is that sort of character whom people meet in everyday life; there is nothing fancy, attractive or interesting about him. This role therefore required me to keep things simple, whether it was the look, make up and even my demeanor."

The actor who has romanced some of the most beautiful actresses on screen feels that for romance you need to keep things simple. He still considers himself a regular guy still amazed at why all these female fans adore him.

The most boring, normal guys are the best lovers! This surprising statement comes from none other than one of the greatest on screen lovers of all time, Shah Rukh Khan, who has successfully romanticized numerous young heroines and gave love a whole new meaning with the blockbuster, DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAAYENGE (still running in its record 675th week).

While talking about his role and character in Aditya Chopra's much anticipated, RAB NE BANA DI JODI, Shah Rukh Khan explained that he plays this normal, regular guy. Its the sort of character that people meet in everyday life; there is nothing fancy, attractive or interesting about them. His role therefore requires him to keep things simple, his look, make up and his demeanour.

Once again Bollywood's global superstar has an interesting logic behind the character that he essays in RNBDJ. Shah Rukh says that the most boring, uninteresting, regular kinds of guys are the greatest lovers in the world. So, this means that SRK is once again going to immortalize love by playing this normal guy and he would definitely turn out to be the greatest lover in the world (on screen we mean!) for the umpteenth time.

Well, his fans can rest assured that even without those amazing six packs, Shah Rukh is going to sweep his billions of female fans (and make a million more!) off their feet with his romantic portrayal of a loveable guy next door, when RAB NE BANA DI JODI hits the screens globally, on December 12.

SRK: Most boring, normal guys are best lovers!

shahrukh_khan1_01Dubai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is now trying a new role as a property developer, conceptualising a series of buildings in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an entertainment website reported here.

Khan's first project is called Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard and is located on the island of Al Dana in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE-based website masala.com reported.

Covering an area of 1,700 sq km, Ras Al Khaimah is among the five emirates that form the northern emirates of the UAE and lies along the border of Oman.

"Our inquiries have revealed that the superstar, who has been lying low since that July 17 tiff with Salman Khan, will be in Dubai to announce the project at the real estate expo City Scape (in Dubai), to be held from Oct 6 to 9," the report said.

The cluster of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments are being designed by well-known architect Toni Ashai and Shah Rukh has associated himself with the project through TSA International Investments, a leading real estate financial consultancy in the UAE.

According to the report, buyers have been invited to offer refundable 'expression of interest' cheques for the apartments, but sales will begin only after the official launch by the King Khan Oct 20, before his 'Temptation Reloaded' show in Dubai.

Khan already is associated with the UAE'e leading real estate developer Nakheel and owns a house on the posh Palm Jumeirah manmade island off the coast of the Dubai.

Though Bollywood actors have earlier endorsed real estate projects in the UAE, this is the first time that a celebrity would actually be developing a property himself, the report said.

---
The Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play a new role in real. The superstar is now aiming pure business; something different from films, this time it's real estate. The news making the rounds is that Shah Rukh's inclination towards real estates and property developments have now taken a concrete shape. The witty Khan, apart from having a production house 'Dreamz Unlimited', now also aims at undertaking a new business venture, namely the 'Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard'.

According to the reports of a news-daily, Shah Rukh's first pet project is in association with TSA International Investments on signature buildings of Al Dana Island, one of UAE's seven emirates.

Sources also state that King Khan will be in Dubai to announce the project at the real estate expo 'City Scape', to be held from October 6 to 9. Buyers have been officially invited for investments, but sales will begin only after the launch on October 20.

Shah Rukh's 'Temptation Reloaded' would embark on the same month in Dubai.

Well, this is the first time ever a star is developing a property himself. Good luck to the biz-savvy Baadshah!
